Wang Xiaowei, a young artist, is good at oil painting and mural painting.  Shandong native, graduated from the mural department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts with a master’s degree and studied under Mr. Sun Jingbo.  2003-present Lecturer, Central Academy of Fine Arts.

 

His works have participated in many major national art exhibitions sponsored by the National Ministry of Culture, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the China Artists Association, the China Art Museum and the China Oil Painting Society and won prizes.  He is one of the important realistic painters of contemporary Chinese oil painting.

 

He has won the bronze prize of the 10th national art exhibition, the grand prize (gold prize) of the ” first mural exhibition”, the technological achievement prize of the ” first mural exhibition” and the ” best artistic inheritance prize” of the graduate works exhibition of the central academy of fine arts.  In 2006, he assisted his mentor, Mr. Sun Jingbo, in completing the creation of a large-scale historical genre mural, ” Mural of Genghis Khan Mausoleum, a generation of Tianjiao”. He mainly created the medium and long-term perspective drawing of the mural of Genghis Khan Mausoleum. This painting won the Gold Award of the 11th National Art Exhibition, the First China Art Award and the Creation Award.
