Artist Zhang Hui was born in 1967 in Heilongjiang Province, China. He graduated from the Central Academy of Drama and is one of the most important members of the ” Post-sensibility” group active in the Chinese contemporary art world from the late 1990s to the early 21st century.  Its fields of practice include painting, installation, live drama and performance.

In 1986, he attended the Stage Art Department of the Central Academy of Drama.

He graduated in 1991 and stayed in school to teach. Now he lives and works in Beijing.
