Born in 1981 in Beijing, China

He graduated from the affiliated high school of the central academy of fine arts in 2000.

He graduated from the Third Studio of the Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2004.

Shang Liang’s works began with a large number of paintings, which are different from traditional portraits. The characters in them are more like symbolic symbols.  Through repeated depictions, the objects represented by this symbol begin to become clearer and clearer, resulting in sculpture works of different forms and meanings.  These works express the artist’s own concerns as a whole.
