Born in Beijing in 1962, graduated from the affiliated high school of Beijing Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1983, graduated from the Industrial Design Department of Beijing Central Academy of Arts and Crafts (now Tsinghua University of Fine Arts) in 1987, and graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liege, Belgium (now Liege Higher Academy of Fine Arts) in 2001, with a master’s degree. He now lives in Belgium and Beijing.
