He was born in Calcutta in 1977 and graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, majoring in mechanical drawing in 2001. He now lives and works in Changsha, Hunan Province. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Hunan Normal University, worked in the media and schools, and is now a professional painter.
