Born in Dalian in 1982, he graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2009 and stayed in the school to teach.  Now I work and live in Beijing.

As a representative of a new generation of artists, Lu Zhengyuan has always resisted the solidified creative styles and methods. His works touch on sculpture, painting, installation, image and other artistic forms.  He often pays close attention to the daily life reality, pays close attention to those things which are on the edge or are not easy to form a definition, and looks for artistic expression between daily experience and unspeakable perception.  Lu Zhengyuan has participated in many exhibitions at home and abroad, including Shanghai’s ” Regenerating Power-Shanghai International Biennale”, Beijing’s ” 84 Days and 84 Pieces-Lu Zhengyuan solo exhibition”, Australia’s ” THE BIG BANG” and Taiwan’s ” body double-Lu Zhengyuan solo exhibition”.  His works have been collected by institutions and individuals including Ullens Foundation for Contemporary Art, Australian White Rabbit Foundation for Contemporary Art, Central Academy of Fine Arts, Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum, Taiwan Taipei Eslite Group, Panama ASA Foundation, XI Center for Contemporary Art, Phoenix Art Museum, Taikang Space, Confucius Institutes in more than 20 countries, Ms. Zhang Zetian, etc.
