Contemporary painter, born in Chongqing in 1963. He graduated from Oil Painting Department of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in 1985. He received his master’s degree in 1988.
He is currently president of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, member of China Artists Association, director of China Oil Painting Association, vice chairman of Chongqing Artists Association and vice chairman of China Artists Association.

The greatest feature of Pang Maoqin’s works is to pay attention to people, to show people’s faces, and to show people’s spiritual world in the description of people’s faces. The characters in his works are not only independent objects, but also idealistic and emotional objects perceived by painters. His artistic language is classical, but the spirit is modern.

He has participated in and held many group and individual exhibitions.
